Nearly every radiological test requires some degree of preparation on the patient's part to ensure the most accurate results.

Computed Tomography Nothing by mouth for 3 hours before the examination. You can pick up oral contrast on the business day before your examination and drink it 3 hours before the examination.
MRCP Nothing by mouth for 3 hours before the examination.
Ultrasound For all ultrasounds of your abdomen, you should have nothing by mouth for 4 before the examination.
For pelvic ultrasounds we require a full bladder. Please consume 32 ounces of water 1 hour before the examination.
Mammography Before the examination, do not wear deodorant, talcum powder or lotion under your arms. Bring your prior mammography films for comparison.
Barium Enema Please pick up your preparation on the business day prior to your examination.
Upper GI Nothing by mouth after midnight.
Bone Density No preparation.
